My Design Journey

From coloring images pixel-by-pixel in Photoshop and being mesmerized by the motion graphics of 2Advanced Studios, I realized that I was enjoying design and graphics more than mechanical engineering degree. I then started my design journey at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and I loved every minute. I have since blended my technical background with my creative side included my knack for bonding people together to become a designer who loves uniting people together in cohesive teams that not only solve together but journey together.

Host of Monthly Event Community in SF

Most people know me as a host of a social gathering I've fostered for the past 13 years in SF. With 100-160 attendees each month and over 50% repeats, what started out as a way to see friends at a happy hour virally turned into a position as a dynamic leader for the AAPI community. And it's still going strong today.

Most people don't know me as a UX designer. They know me as a host of a 'viral' underground social gathering I've thrown monthly for the AAPI community in San Francisco with 80-160 attendees, over 50% return members for the past 13 years. What started out as a way to see old friends regularly at an after-work happy hour organically turned into a position as a community leader of a consistent community for people to connect in modern society.

Connection, cohesion, community, and being in-office

My position as a community leader in conjunction with my role as a designer shapes me as someone who is constantly seeking to connect and collaborate in and across team lines. I thrive in connected environments, seeking to strengthen the personal bond with people I work with. That said, I love being in-office.

Handyman, Gym Rat, and Photographer

Dump Diver, Gym Rat, and Photographer

If I could, I would earn my living fixing and cleaning things that people throw out, I would. I've brought back to life, e-scooters, couches, bedframes, full computer towers, and kitchen appliances to name a few. My other side hustle is a photographer, shooting events, real estate, or landscapes for my desktop wallpaper.
